A night at the Hotel Coral Essex with Wormser and the best of 1978, 1983 & 1995!

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

If you're like us, you adored Revenge of the Nerds growing up. Love it or hate it, there is no denying it was iconic 80s comedy! That being said, since we were all youngins when it came out in 1984, the only character that we could really relate to was Wormser! So as we were discussing Revenge of the Nerds a few weeks ago, Joe Findlay said "see if Andrew Cassese wants to be a judge". Great idea, Joe! We sent Andrew a message, and he was totally down to be a guest judge! Without hesitation, we booked a room at the HOTel cORAL eSEXx, and passed over the gavel to Andrew! After a month off, it's been a while since we did a "best of" month, and we forgot just how closely contested these months can be. Since Joe suggested Andrew to be on the show, he came equipped with the best of October, 1983! Our good pal Beau Becraft is back in the fold, and we put him right in his wheelhouse with an October 1995 that only Beau could deliver. Rounding out the panel, Mancrush comes with a spooky October, 1978!

Andrew brings out his inner Wormser, and utilized his superior intellect to navigate this extremely close battle of decades! In this episode you might find out: Wormsers fondest memories from being a tri-lamb, a restaurant that broaches on judge pandering, a major band plays a show for three people, Andrew interrupts a bronco chase, Joe surprises no one by bringing more death, the birth of the stink palm, real Bond goes bootleg Bond, an independent movie kills the competition, the Jets get embarrassed by an expansion team, evil robot clones takeover Magic Mountain, Tony Manero was not the best costume of 1978, a Yokozuna doubleheader no one asked for, a computer program kills the typewriter, douche brothers create a masterpiece, Mancrush duets with Wormser, Captain Lou makes a cameo, Andrew is NOT Bret Spiner, the difference between Adams College and Fort Lauderdale, Wormer cleans up at the Greek games, Wormser's stand-in shows up intoxicated, and what was it like to be a kid on the set of Revenge of the Nerds?

Another retro sit-down with the man who isn't even supposed to be here today, Brian O'Halloran

Thanks for all the messages about last week's retro throwback episode! There is nothing like reliving the past with a little fireside chat. We know you want some more Dueling Decades, but we're still on vacation. Don't worry though, we're going back in time once again! This week we get to rehash an epic conversation we had with Brian O'Halloran! It's funny to listen back to an episode that we did three short years ago. So much has changed since then, and we got to hang out with Brian a few months after this interview, and he's as cool as expected. Great guy and I hope we can get him back on Dueling Decades one day as a judge!

In this retro sitdown, the decadent boys of the stall delve deep into Brian O'Halloran! You may know Brian as Dante from Clerks, and 37 other Hicks characters from the View Askew universe! The boys and Brian talk about his love for the Rangers, what life is like for a Jets fan, the worst job he ever had, Clerks, the party life of convention stars, and even how to deposit a check for .06 cents. Brian weighs in on the ill-fated Clerks cartoon, Clerks 3, the Jay and Silent Bob reboot & Mall Brats. Mr. O'Halloran becomes the first guest to ever check in on Shawbag, as his bizarre silence was staring to freak everyone out. And who the hell is Rick Mancrush?! Check this one out, there is a lot of goodies inside.

It's a Dueling Decades retro throwback with one of our favorite guests of all time, Daniel Baldwin!

As a lot of our loyal fans are aware, for a long time we used to have another show called Poop Culture. When we folded the show to go fulltime with Dueling Decades, we left behind a lot of really great interviews! Well, since we're on a vacation week, we decided to release some of these old "fireside" chats with various guests. This episode was really a surprise to us because it occurred only 29 episodes into that show. That night, we were all prepared to have a special effects artist on the show, and we were all ready to rock. Two hours prior to showtime, we got a call from his agent that he had an emergency and had to back out of the show. That same agent said, "if you want, I could call Daniel Baldwin if you're interested". Well, the rest was history!

Daniel Baldwin is a fantastic talker and storyteller! Listen to Mancrush and former co-host Jay Biglove chat it up with Mr. Baldwin, you won't be disappointed. Danny talks to us about growing up Baldwin and being one of the famous Baldwin brothers. He talks about terrorizing his sister’s boyfriends and even sings us a tune that is shockingly impressive. Dan also discusses Celebrity Big Brother, reality TV, and we brainstorm our own celebrity beatdown challenge. We also get some behind the scenes info on Celebrity Rehab, John Carpenter, Homicide: Life on the streets. Last but not least, Dan talks about directing his award-winning movie “The Wisdom to Know the Difference”. And, did I mention that Daniel Baldwin is a fantastic storyteller? See for yourself!

Enjoy this walk down memory lane from over four years ago! Hit us up on social media and let us know what you think. What I think is, Danny needs to come back and be a judge on the show!

Welcome back, our buddy David Schultz is back to judge this retro duel! The heart really does grow fonder when your close friends are not around, and it shows. The boys let loose for some retro hijinks in this seriously amusing "week experience"! Before getting started, there's some big news dropped from the Dueling Decades team. From there, the retro warriors get right into some fierce competition! Drew Zakmin finally gets to dive way back, and brought the best week he could find from mid-September 1973. Rock n’ Roll goes “Hollywood” when Jeanne Basone judges this match between 1975, 1989 & 1994!

Dueling Decades is back for another battle, and this time it's slightly different than normal! Typically when a judge is selected to be on the show, the guys try to cater something that the judge is known for. This week, Jeanne Basone, otherwise known as "Hollywood" from GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling) grabs the gavel and she's ready to throw down. Except, Hollywood requested that the boys do an episode all about Rock music! What the judge wants, the judge gets! So sit back, relax, throw on your headphones, and take a trip back to 1975, 1989 & 1994! This genre-based episode of Dueling Decades rocks hard, and it goes right down to the wire! Joe Findlay is back this week, and he brings an epic helping of rock in 1975! Marc James is the middle of the Oreo this week, and he's rocking out with his jeans tucked into his Reeboks and bears the best of 1989! After a nail-biting victory, Mancrush grabs his favorite flannel shirt and delivers the best music stylings of 1994!

This duel was lots of fun for everyone involved, and by the end, Hollywood was ready to record another episode! Hold on to your hats, all three of contestants brought some legendary picks! In this episode, you may hear about: one really dirty concert, electroshock therapy, a new way to dodge drug charges, the people at the Grammys are out of touch, a band goes to bat for the fans when no one else would, Joe brings a snack, a poor boy that nobody loves, a band debuts a song about a girl, another band gets nominated for every genre, the Grammys are still clueless, Axl being Axl, the history of Milwaukee, the end of an era, legends reunite in Morocco, an EP debuts at number one, Marc kinda goes on the dark side, the unfortunate loss of a rising star kills a franchise, Elton John scammed his friend, Joe Brings a picture book to the reading circle, Mancrush devises a scheme and gets busted by the club, and why was Hollywood embarrassed in Middle School?

Do you agree with Hollywood's rulings? Play at home and judge for yourself! While you're at it, send your rulings to our Facebook and pick up 20 points on the Dueling Decades Leaderboard!
