The team behind the Nickelodeon documentary The Orange Years returns to judge the stupid criminals of 1974, 1980 & 1998!

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

We had so much fun the last time they were on the show we could not wait for the return of Adam Sweeney and Scott Barber the duo behind the fantastic documentary film "The Orange Years: The Nickelodeon Story". This time around we turned off the kid-stuff and threw them a curveball for some fun, as we investigate the idiots of dumb crime and capers! Mancrush swings into the 70s with 1974 and a slew of “hot” picks. Marc James is on a mission from God and hopes all the dumb criminals of 1980 can help him steal this one. Trevor Gumbal returns to the show with 1998 and some half-baked criminals caught in the act.

It’s always fun to have returning guest judges on the show and as of late we have had some triumphant returns and Adam Sweeney and Scott Barber are no exception. Even though they are veteran judges Adam and Scott have their work cut out for them because the cast this week dug up some of the most crooked crooks committing some of the craziest crimes you will ever hear about. The judges are not the only returns to the show this week as a James Caan classic comes back but this time on the big screen. Find out the best places to steal music in 1998 and was it Buttercup or Butternuts anyway? Bagpipes blared as the police are Breaking The Law and everything else in a hotel room apparently. Thieves steal some sacrificial knives and 28 cents worth of brass. A famous singer gets caught with his pants down trying to Wham someone and a London heist gets caught on camera. Did a policeman have a sixth sense or was he just a racist? As well as their movie, Scott Barber wants everyone to check out the music of Westley Willis! We hear the story of an AWOL Huey Helicopter and you won’t believe what Jerry Springer wrote a check for in 1974!

Chris Barron of the Spin Doctors is here to oversee this battle between 1989, 1991 and 1999!

Marc James is a Spin Doctors superfan, and nothing was going to hold him back from being on this episode of Dueling Decades, not even when his Internet lines get cut! That's right, the gods were against us for this recording. Two hours before our recording with Chris Barron, Marc's Internet lines got cut in a crazy construction snafu, then Mancrush's network card took a dump 30 minutes before call time! That said, we adapted, and we overcame! No pandemic, cut Internet, or faulty computers were going to stop us from recording this episode. But, just in case Joe Findlay from the Miscast Commentary Podcast is here on backup!  With the contest underway, Marc stacked the deck to impress Chris Barron with his 21st birthday of 1999! Drew Zakmin from the One Headlight 90's podcast is back with the funnest 11th birthday he could muster from 1991! And to round everything out, Mancrush is looking to find another lucky shirt with his own 11th birthday from 1999!

It's been a whole lot easier since tonight's gremlins are gone, it's a whole lot happier without their faces around! Chris Barron is still rocking on his live "Thirsty Thursday" shows on StageIt, make sure to drop on in. Don't worry, the Spin Doctors are still together as well, and he gives us some deep musical introspective on the past and present! It doesn't end there though, find out how the Spin Doctors came to be, Mancrush's second favorite Kickboxer of 1989, wearing operating room attire to dinner, the best way to conceal your peppermint schnapps, three teens that could have saved Al Capone from syphilis, two nearly identical stories about an ageless legend, a beastly beverage we've all purchased, our wives keep our childhood memories in the basement, watch Wapner wherever you want, knockoff birthday gifts, showing up at a movie and your song is unknowingly in it, dark 90's music, the birth of a musical legend, a reptile that looks like John Goodman, a musician you put on when you turn the lights down, things you do in the passenger's seat of your best friends vehicle, things people say about Chris' bandmates, playing games in a Craftmatic adjustable bed, snitches get stitches, Marc uses AOL instant messenger to meet a stranger in New York City, and what is it like to know your album is basically available anywhere you go?

Do you agree with Chris's rulings? Play at home and judge for yourself! While you're at it, send your rulings to our Facebook and pick up 20 points on the Dueling Decades Leaderboard!

Who had the best July to kick off their Summer - 1970, 1980 or 1990?

This week the boys of summer are back and you won't forget this steamy blast from the past! What year had the best summer to start off the decade? Dave Schultz from the Selling Out Show returns to judge this epic "best of" July battle between 1970, 1980, and 1990!  Will Mancrush’s new lucky shirt turn out to be a winner as he competes with July 1970? Or will Marc James’ selections from July 1980 topple the pack? Drew Zakmin of the One Headlight 90’s Podcast drops some knowledge as he defends the best of July 1990!

The Dueling Decades gang tunes into some iconic radio and takes a trip down the highway of forgotten memories in everyone's favorite affordable 90's automobile! Is that an Alanis Morrisette song? Other than that, you're going to hear about annoying Nickelodeon show tunes, Playboy bunnies who serve you dinner, long-distance dedications, summer fun with the man in black, the successful acting career playbook, the Cannon group brings you full-frontal, Miller High Life's musical companion, 50-year-old predictions become real life, a new band emerges from the ashes of another band, working with clay, a strike kills an industry, scifi toys that everyone owned, an album full of sexual innuendos, Peter Boyle's butt, and who doesn't like movies about gladiators?

We had a most triumphant time with Diane Franklin judging this worst of duel between 1976, 1986 & 1996!

We're joined by a real Princess this week, Diane Franklin joins the show to determine who had a "not so excellent" decade! Diane Franklin, the beautiful Princess Elizabeth from Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, John Cusack's muse in Better off Dead, and everyone's favorite "Karen" in Last American Virgin grabs the gavel and deliberates this "worst of" battle of the decades! Joe Findlay from Miscast Commentary came to battle with the worst of the first week of July 1986! Marc is looking for back to back victories with the most awful first week of July 1976 that he can muster. Mancrush is still looking for his first victory in over a month; so he delivers an inferior first week of July 1996 to get back on the winning path.

Diane Franklin brings some brutal honesty to this episode of Dueling Decades! Aside from her unwavering judgments, she also tells us what her worst movie role ever was, what her favorite role was, the real reason why you watched Second Time Lucky, the worst Independence Day movie imaginable, the difference between east coasters and west coasters, invaders from another planet, the end of journalism, Bo Derek, Cannon Films rules no matter what, toys that are a step above coal, cooking with chemicals, a movie Disney wishes didn't exist, a "regular guy" heads to Hollywood, mysterious albums, don't touch Marc, fake coups, intergalactic failures, the price is wrong Bob, boring BBC shows, John McNamara screws Roger Clemens, filming awkward nude scenes, life after Mental Health, and who was the funniest man on the set of Better Off Dead?

Do you agree with Diane's rulings? Play at home and judge for yourself! While you're at it, send your rulings to our Facebook and pick up 20 points on the Dueling Decades Leaderboard!

RJ City is back for round two of this showdown between the last week of June 1978, 1988 & 1998!

A few weeks back we had professional Wrestler RJ City on the show as guest judge and he dazzled us with his knowledge behind the bench. However, being that the episode was all about wrestling, he felt typecast! In spite of that, we invited him back to judge the "week experience", and he didn't disappoint! Our old friend Beau Becraft is back, and he brought the best of the last week of June 1998 to the party. After a week off from competition, Marc James is back in the fold, and he's got a first-rate week from the end of June 1988. Their final opponent is a man that's been left off the victor's stand for nearly a month, Mancrush looks to finally get off the schneid with the finest he can muster with the last week of June 1978. Will this one be close, or will we see a landslide?

RJ starts the episode off with a special message for our oldest fan, David Moble. Davy boy has been singing our praises for years, and we wanted to share with him how much his loyalty means to us. From there, the competition is as stiff as a lariat from Big Van Vader! In this episode, you might find sexual swing music, the end of prank phone calls, some guy named Coper, sweaty nether regions, Moble's preferred operating system, JLo in a trunk, Hugh Hefner has an auction, Eddie Murphy's extended Universe, potential spoilers from a 1978 classic, an homage to Ben Vereen, hot foreign music, ways to ruin a classic film, immovable rubber toys, men's fashion, smelly math teachers, and how is Beau connected to RJ City's first sexual conquest? All this and more on this episode of Dueling Decades!

Do you agree with RJ's rulings? Play at home and judge for yourself! While you're at it, send your rulings to our Facebook and pick up 20 points on the Dueling Decades Leaderboard!
