The Last Blockbuster director Taylor Morden judges this B-movie battle between 1985, 1990 & 1995!

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

We're going to make this episode, a Blockbuster night! You may not live close to the last Blockbuster in Bend, Oregon, but we'll do our best to emulate a Friday night walking up and down the aisles looking for the perfect movie. To do that, we have the director of The Last Blockbuster, Taylor Morden as our guest judge this week! If you haven't seen the documentary yet, it's a total walk down memory lane, and we highly recommend it. To deliver nostalgia to the max, we're also going to cover B-Movies again! Which year had the best B-Movies in your option? Let's look at our competitors. First up, our resident tape head, Mike Ranger is back with the best B-Movies 1995 had to offer. Marc James is smack dab in the middle of this one, with the B-Movie stronghold of 1990. And rounding out this battle of the decades, Mancrush comes with the early days of rental lore with B-Movies of 1985!

Again, if you spent your days in the aisles of a rental store, you need to go out and watch The Last Blockbuster. Regardless if you liked Blockbuster or not, this documentary will take you back to the good ol' days. In this episode, you might hear about Chuck Norris putting Mike Ranger to sleep, gooey white stuff that tastes delicious, never ask Lloyd Kaufman to introduce himself, exploited Goblins, rated "S" movies, Roger Corman can make 47 movies with a hundred grand, our last B-movie judge moves cross country, adult movies spur children's cartoons, secret B-movie headquarters under a mall in Jersey, magazines for cinephiles, the very first straight to video gem, thirteen dollar tomatoes, The Last Blockbuster in Bend Oregon, rental night nostalgia, our relationship with movie consumption, Mancrush serenades, Marc James bends the rules, 35-year-old high school seniors, magnificent bastards, how Taylor scored a Kevin Smith interview, Jamie Kennedy and Samm Levine make appearances, and is there room for a rental store resurgence?

Let off some steam, listen to this retro battle between 1985 & 1994 with Guest Judge Vernon Wells!

We're back for another nostalgic showdown between late April 1985 and late April 1994! Mancrush fills in last minute for Beau Becraft to faceoff against Dueling Decades' 2020 upstart Drew Zakmin. As usual, we need someone to hold down law and order, so why not a 1980s & 1990s movie villain? That's right, who knows the law better than an outlaw?! This man trashes teenage house parties for fun, battles Mad Max in the apocalypse with assless chaps, kidnaps John Matrix's daughter, and gets cozy inside Martin Short's body! He had no limits, and he's here to decide which decade did it better. Welcome, the nicest bad guy we ever got to meet, Vernon Wells!

In this episode, we got all kinds of nostalgia that you didn't know, you didn't need to know. A huge company flinched to its competitor's advances, Dan Akyroyd sings with Willie Nelson, an iconic album gets a followup, Teri dresses like Elvis Costello, an ER doctor has sex with a spy, obscure TV shows down under, prostitutes unionize and become dangerous, a movie you probably don't remember, an album that changed the game, a bizarre concert pairing upsets teeny boppers, lots of videotapes, Peg Bundy, Madonna's a genius, Drew gives a history lesson, someone died, Drew gives another history lesson, Vernon didn't care, opinionated comedians, a janitor goes to the Tennessee State Penitentiary, Vernon drops all kinds of gems, and where the hell do rich people hang their paintings anyway? Do you agree with Vernon's rulings? Play at home and judge for yourself! While you're at it, send your rulings to our Facebook and pick up 20 points on the Dueling Decades Leaderboard!

Retro rocker, Robert Tepper Returns! It's a Judges Choice showdown between April 1988 vs April 1999.

Welcome back to another episode of Dueling Decades! We needed a celebrity judge with some Dueling Decades experience this week, so we called our buddy Robert Tepper to help us judge this nostalgic battle! Judge Tepper becomes our first three-time celebrity judge, so we decided to give him some super judicial powers. On this week's episode, its "judge's choice". I know, what the hell is "Judge's choice"!? Well, before this retro battle between the 80s & 90s begins, Robert will have to tell us if this is going to be "Best week" rules or "Worst week" rules! That said, Marc and Mancrush come into this matchup totally blind! They are forced to try and mitigate the damage from going all-in on an awesome month, or a turd month. Ultimately, this is a really honest snapshot of April 1988 and April 1999!

We got an elite martial artist's debut, alien bounty hunters and drunks, someone got stuck in a closet with Vanna White, a monumental album you probably didn't realize was monumental, Tony Danza & Debbie Gibson share some slime, someone grabbed Thor's hammer, the best way to cure STDs, strange scientific patents, mortgage your home to purchase a VHS tape, tight leather pants, and frosted tips, awful tragedies, tales from Coffee Bean, rubber sheet alarm upgrades, the attitude era, more frosted tips, cultish cartoons, celebrity bowling tournaments with Robert, a trip to death row and much much more! Do you agree with Judge Tepper's rulings? Play at home and judge for yourself! While you're at it, send your rulings to our Facebook and pick up 20 points on the Dueling Decades Leaderboard!

Lydia Cornell guest judges this battle between 83 & 96, and it's Too Close for Comfort!

We got a special guest judge this week that has a lot of stories to tell! The ageless and beautiful Lydia Cornell joins the show! The Too Close for Comfort star judges this battle between 1983 & 1996, and drops some serious Hollywood stories on us. Just who did she kiss on Magic Mountain? What did she say about Ted Knight on a talk show that was too scandalous for audiences? Who did she deliver "the talk" to while celebrating an anniversary at Hooters? Did she start a rumor? An agent did what?! Stalkers, Stolen valor and a whole lot more from her upcoming book!

Mike Ranger and Marc go head to head on this week's retro battle between the 80s and 90s! On this episode, we got notorious killers, Marc digs deep for an industrial discovery, Lydia gets wet on a television challenge, stripping welders, songs about masturbation, short shorts and tight tank tops, Gerbils in small uncomfortable spaces, witches on television, tv networks on the decline, hammer on the decline, JTT gets stricken with disease, and much much more! Do you agree with Lydia's rulings? Play at home and judge for yourself! While you're at it, send your rulings to our Facebook and pick up 20 points on the Dueling Decades Leaderboard!
